Commerce Commence Careers The exciting world of business with its clicking typewriters and ringing phones has opened its doors to all. To prepare future secretaries and executives for this busy world Turner offers many fine courses in the business field. Such classes as typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and office practice give students valuable training and experience. All students, even those who are college bound, need some business education to compete in the world today. Many choose to make a career in the business field, an interesting and worth-while profession. To encourage students in typing and shorthand the Gregg awards are offered each year to those who can qualify for them. Future businessmen and women are given the best possible basis for success in their chosen vocation. Learn those brief forms and characters in shorthand.

Problems Puzzle P As a tool to develop the mind math teaches a student to think and reason for himself, which as an individual he must learn to do. Turner has broadened its math program this year by adding aGeneral Math II class. The purpose of the class is to serve as a refresher course for students having only one year of math in high school. Another addition to the math department is calculus. It is now offered to approved seniors during their study hall period every other day. The course gives one-half credit for the year. Industry Incites Initiative High schools of today are doing every- thing possible to prepare students for a prosperous and full life after graduation. This not only includes college preparation, but also development of certain skills and abilities which may aid a student in select- ing a vocation. The purpose of industrial arts is to give valuable training to boys who are interested in the industrial field as a possible vocation or as a hobby. Turner has well-equipped shop areas which give students opportunity to work with up-to-date machinery and gain actual experience through their work. Courses offered in this department are printing, auto mechanics, general shop, metal and wood Be accurate!
