M.RS INEZ ANDERSON This IS Mrs Inez Anderson She graduated from Mary ville Mo State Teachers College and came to Turner in 1944 She teaches gym You know the class that makes us feel like a million every day of it We also have her for vo ations hygiene and American history Ah' yes that required course It requ1res that you read your lesson at least once a day pay attention 1n class and most of all pass As senior class sponsor she IS director of all class activities senzor play 1n cluded I She 1S also sponsor of the one act play and the 41,,, Y Ql- Ur S 1700 S v 9 4.-104-4.- student council 9 3 MR ERDMAN JOHNSON Our other senior class sponsor is Mr Erdrnan Johnson who is also our music department d1rector He has been at Tur ner since 1939 teach1ng Span1sh band and boys and girls glee club Outside of his classes he is d1rector of all musicals such as the operettas Varlety shows andChr1strnas vespers our swing band and sponsor of the H1 Y the boys organiza t1on He takes the mixed chorus and his soloists to Lawrence everyyear to the festival and to the EKL. festival We re proud of our music departrnent and thank Ottawa University and Northwestern University for a fine teacher MISS DOLORES TIEFEL One of the busiest teachers at Turner is usually the Junior class sponsor and MISS Dolores Tiefel is no exception With Latin and Freshman English she also teaches public speaking where we learn to talk then are remindedinother classes that we re no supposed to talk As wellas being director of the junior play junior stunt night and the junior-senior ban- quet she is sponsor of the all girl organization Y-teens Miss Tiefel graduated from Kansas City University and has been with us since 1946 MR WILLIAM HALLIDAY Our other junior class sponsor is Mr William Halliday and he can be found at any time tinkering with awoodworking pro- ject His boys have turned out some beautiful projects: lamps coffee tables bookcases smoking stands. etc Other than woodworking, he teaches mechanical drawing and metal work fpart of the general shop coursej. Mr. Halliday is an alumnus of Kansas State Teachers College at Pittsburg and joined the army in 1942 and served with the Signal Corps. He has been with us for two years. 7

L 4l mm, MISS KIETHA PETERSON Miss Kietha Peterson IS the teacher we re sure you would be xnterested in Mom Almost every g1r11n Turner has her for either foods clotlnng or related arts or maybe all three She took home economics at Kansas State Teachers College at Pittsburg and has been on the faculty since 1930 She has also assumed the responsibilities of sophomore class spon sor and as 11brar1an Our library is always packed wxth in teresting books on all subjects and th1s fine selection 15 due to M1ss Peterson s interest in her work MR ROBERT WILKINS Tlus IS one teacher that really has had his hands full try 1ng to teach a group of girls the dlfference between a hammer and a saw Yes th1s 15 Mr Robert Wilkins the g1r1s house hold mechanics teacher and teacher of mechafucal draw1ng and printing He has done a marvelous Job dec1pher1ng the work of the Journalism class and pr1nt1ng the Booster He is also sophomore class sponsor He came to Turner 1n 1941 but left to serve our country for three years and is now back with us again He 15 a graduate of Kansas State Teachers G- couege atP1t'tsburg J XULUIAM MISS ELLEN LINDBURG Learn1ng the names of over a hundred freshmen is no pxcmc especially if you don t have them 1n class This 15 the duty of Miss Ellen Lindburg She IS fresh man class sponsor but teaches upper classmen only Junior Enghsh and sophomore English aren t enough but Miss Lmdburg has Journahsm too Iournahsm 15 the class where you learn how to read and write 1ns1gn language for the benef1t of the printing department Naturally the teaclung of Iournalismbrings the respon sibility of the annual and Booster upon her shoulders and she has done a fine job She came to Turner in 1946 and is a graduate of Emporza Teachers College , XA x fiiigsisl 1 MR ARNOLD VOTH Mom and Dad you know that we have to take alaboratory science to graduate and taking this science course under Mr ' Arnold Voth has beena great pleasure Biology and chemistry are interesting subjects taught by an interesting teacher At' last we all know what H20 is and a little about the matter that surrounds us Mr Voth received his A B from Bethel?
