Y.-I all X Remembering 1980 Summer Vacation What's special about summer? Other than free- dom from school. THS students appreciate the freedom to experience variety: working at jobs, visiting other countries, and meeting new people. Freshman Paul Saini enjoyed meeting and lunch- ing with President Carter during the l980 sum- mer. l wrote him a letter and he invited me to lunch! sxclaimed Saini. For some THS students summer meant working and earning extra cash. Remembering his summer job. Senior Brian Machado commented, I was just doing what I was told to do. Senior Kenny King described his job, that, lf you like wet feet you'll like washing cars? Meanwhile, some THS students spent money rather than earning it this summer. Trooping across Europe and commanded by chaperon! teacher Doug Adams. THS students visited nu- merous countries. Reactions to the trip? Students enjoyed a new sense of freedom and concluded.
