Band And Orchestra . An assembly of band music was presented to the Student Body, and on May 22, the annual spring band concert was held. During this year the band ordered new uniforms. The orchestra played for school plays, the Christmas Pageant, the AllfSchool Play, and for a play given by the Community Players. Their concert was held with the glee clubs' concert on May 14. Mr. Rageth was the instruc- tor of the orchestra as well as the band. Iviembers of both band and orchestra took part in the Music Festival held in Stockton on March S. The band and orchestra there was composed of the best music students that each school had to offer from schools all along the valley. Turlock Hi was represented by twelve members in the band and seven in the orchestra. Conductors at this event were Williaiii Revelli and Fred Ohlendorf. Seniors of 1947 walked out of the auditorium of the high school for the last time as students to the music of the orchestra on the night of their graduation. Glee Clubs . The Beginning and Ad' vanced Glee Clubs, this year under the direction of Mrs. Fay -W Gartin, presented an assembly Nelae Powell, Darlene Parker, Kathleen Marilyn Baker, . President Secretary Pantazopulos, Secretary In the Carly Part of the School President term . The Advanced Glee played a major part in the success of the Christmas Pageant. They traveled to Stockton twice during the year. The first time they sang in a group of over seven hundred voices directed by Robert Shawg the second time they sang competitively. A spring concert was held by both Beginning and Advanced Clee Clubs with the orchestra on May 14. Climaxing the year, the Advanced Glee sang at both Baccalaureate service and Commencement exercises.

Drama . Advanced memhers of the Drama class were given experience in directing plays when they presented the folf lowing plays at assemblies: Town Hall Tonight and 'LAntic Spring . The Perfect Trihuteu, in which some of the stu' dents took part, was directf ed hy Paul Norton, who also took an acting role. The cast for the Christ' mas Pageant was composed almost entirely of Drama stu' dents. Taking part in the Allf School Play were: Cedric Benjamin, James Collett, Adrian Head, Marilyii Ly' man, Shirley Nelson, Marge johnson, Alhert Kline, and Byron Nickolauson. Instructor of this class was Mr. Rohert Weiitz. Stage Craft The stagecratt class add' ed much to the Christmas Pageant hy their setting for Thc Littlest Angel . They also decorated the stagc for the Spring Concert.
