The Rally Committee did a very commendable job in stimulating fine sport' manship and school spirit shown at our football games by presenting many interest' ing and comical rallies. The USO Club has carried out its purpose of promoting social activities among student journalists by having several parties during the year including initiation, earoling at Chris- tmas, and a Weiner roast. The Club sold food at the Lodi game in order to raise money for pictures to be printed in the Clarion each week. Future Farmers of America . Starting the year with the traditional Green Hand initiation, the Turf lock Chapter of the Future Farmers of America gave a reception for their twenty' four new members. Apply' for the State Farmer def gree were Charles Larson and Howard Hayes. In November the Ag classes made a trip to San Francisco to see the Grand National Livestock Exposif tion held at the Cow Palace. Gene Fordyce, Ierolld Veenendaal, Wayne Melvin, Dan Lopez, Clarence Rodrick, Bill Gann, Virgil Downs, Matt Srnithcamp, Dwight Lang, Robert Graves, Mr. Herbert Brownlee, Manuel Vierra, Henry Prez, lohnny Truett, David Bell, Tommy Robinson, Stanley Wall, Art Waterson, lack Lemmons, Bob Flannery, Douglas lohn, Frank Souza, Walter Beasley, Monty Harris, Manuel Costa, Ronald Vering, Howard Hayes, Charles Larson, Harley Lenser, lack Huii, Dallas Pearson, Louis Leache, lohn Medieras, Henry Lollar, Dan Kararn, Paul Worton, Gar- land Stephens, Norman Graves, Richard Henslley, Gilbert Medieros, Bob Nutcher, Bob Larson, Bob Nuier, Hilbert Rangel, Ronald Vierra, Clitt McCullough, Lowell Wall. Later in the year six boys went to the Grand National junior Livestock Exposition which was also held at the Cow Palf ace. The boys making the trip were: Norman Graves, Jerold Veenendaal, Art Waterscnii, Bob Nutcher, Douglas John and Walter Beasley. The F. F. A. presented again their annual boxing show, and in the spring they presented the California Polytechnic College Male Glee Club and Dance Band. Stanley Brandenburg was the winner of the Chapter public speaking conf test and second place winner of the Central Region contest, which was held in Oakdale. Wiiiners were awarded a weekfend trip to Sacramento and San Francisco. Concluding the years activities, the F. F. A. held a Father and Son Banquet on May 16th. At that time yearly awards were presented. Awards were based on activities, endeavors and student competition. Darwin Maxon was presented a sweater for having the highest number of activity points in the chapter. Mr. Herbert Brownlee was the F. F. A. advisor.
