Senior Class History Class Motto-Finishedg Yet Beginning GLASS FLOWER CLASS COLORS Sweet Pea l Lavender and Green The records obtained on registration day, September the eight- eenth, nineteen twenv-two, showed the entering class to number one hundred forty students. Because of retardation, acceleration, transfer, etc., only ninety of this number received diplomas at the Comeneenient, June eleventh, nineteen twenty six. During the past year the Senior Class has been extremely active under the guidanceof Miss lslestwood, Miss Hohenthal and Miss Smith. Many things have been accomplished in every line of endeavor. First, establishing a new custom, the Seniors gave an informal reception for the Faculty and the Juniors. This came around Hallo- e'en and the entertainment and refreshments carried out that theme. On December fifth our class presented t'The Goose Hangs High . Enough money was taken in from it to provide for the financial bus- iness of the class for the year. After all financial obligations had been met a balance of over two hundred dollars remained. Hfllobo Day proved to be exactly what its name indicates. All of the hoboes, the flappers, the bad boys, the babies, and the old wo- men came forth in their festive regalia and reigned supreme. At noon the Peppers served a two-bit luncheon for us in Den- air Park. After luncheon we gave a vaudeville show for the Student Body. lt consisted of a selection by a town orchestra, a Bow NVow tumbling and initiation stunt and several take-offs on the faculty. At the close ot' the program Olga Nelson and Charles Fernandes were, bv popular vote, declared the most typical hoboes. When it came to selecting a gift for the school, a committee was appointed to meet with the Board of 'Frustees to get suggestions. Recognizing the fact that this wasa gift from which nearly every one in school would derive some benefit, we gave the Board two hundrecl dollars to be used in paying for two tennis courts. Our class numerals have been put in one of the courts. The .'l'unior-Senior Banquet came next and gave us a chance to show off our new clothes as well as our new dates. It was trulv an enjoyable affair and we compliment the Juniors as hosts. Baccelaureate was held in the High School auditorium on Sunday' June 11, with Rev. Eastman preaching the sermon. Comencement night with Caroline Knutsen as Yaledictorian and Rita Allen as Salutatorian. ended the career of the class of Twenty- six, the first class to be able to do all four years work in the new high school buildings.
