practice. Parties, picnics, and the celebrating of St. Patrick's day and May day have been annual events of our renowned class. Walter Brown was our leader during this eventful year. With the ability of mighty statesmen, our officers guided the class through the straits of financial embarrassment and into the harbor of plenty. A play entitled Looking for Mary Jane, a farcial comedy in three acts, was staged with decided success. From this we realized the grand total of three hundred eighty-six dollars. Athletics formed an important roll in the class during our third year, since we had the county mile champion in our class as well as three basket ball players on the first team and a good representation on the baseball team. In June this arrogant class of '21 made elaborate plans for a junior-senior reception, revealing the consummate skill of the class in the social event of the year. 'All this time we were becoming more closely attached to our teachers and to high school traditions. We are now seniors, small in numbers but these with the quality, for it is a case of quality and not quantity that counts in this world. fWe boast of a class that is unparalleled and out of the ranks of competitorsj Without delay the class of '21 put their shoulders to the wheel and proceeded to direct the affairs of our wonderful student body, or in other words took up the responsibility of seniors. Not only did we assume the duties of the various school offices but our class went in, body and soul, for athletics, and so we find five seniors on the football squad, two crack basket ball players on the first team and a good representation in baseball and track. Charles Clifford was elected to head our glorious class. Parties, skip day, and April Fool's day were in no way forgotten, for even thoughwe are seniors we believe in both work and play. Our class play, The Rejuvenation of Aunt Mary, fitted the class financially to pay for their part in the Alert and to provide accommodations for graduating. And now as we near the end of our course in Turlock High School we have a feeling of sadness. When we think of the happy days spent here and the teachers and school mates from whom we must part, a lonesomeness comes over us and we know that we will regret that this period of our lives is past. We, the members of the class of '21, leave all our dear friends with the saddest of hearts, to step out into the world and climb to the place where our service is most needed. W. A. B. 21
