Senior kevicw As the end of the school year, 1960-61, draws to a close, the Seniors are preparing to say goodbye forever to their school home. For the past twelve years they have worked, dreamed, and planned, At last these endeavors have come to a climax. They have reached the milestone in their lives that they have been striving for since they entered the first grade. Now mingled with their elation is a note of sadness. They know that the school they are leaving has given them treasured memories of events that they will never again be able to experience. In spite of their nostalgia, there is not one who is not proud of his scholastic accomplishments and eager to enter a new phase of life on his or her own. Twelve years ago, in the fall of 1949, forty-two happy, curious, eager boys and girls entered the first grade of Turkey Public Schools. Life for them held many mysteries and questions. Many obscure conceptions were solved and answered by May 1957. At that time twenty-two students took a big step. They were graduated. In the fall of 1957, twenty-two very green Freshmen entered the halls of T. H. S. This Freshman class went over with a bang under the guidance of their sponsor, Mr. Bill Quernerg and with Keith Lane as president, everything they undertook was a grand success, Never before in T. H. S. had there existed such a peppy, enthusiastic, Freshman class. The upper classmen of that year began to sit up and take notice. ln the Sophomore year the class under the leadership of their president, Jerry Bob Smith, and sponsor, Mr. Wayne Johnson, took part in all school activities. That year they all looked forward to their Junior year. Keith Lane was elected pr eside nt for the Junior year. The feeling of the entire class is voiced in giving Keith much credit for the successful year of 1959-60. Financial luck during the year led them up to the climax and object of all their strenuous work ----- the Junior-Senior banquet, which was said by many to be the nicest ever given. Class cooperation in everything was at its peak during this year, and to this, success is attributed. The Junior play, Time Out for Ginger , will long be remembered by the a c tor s and audience as the best production ever given in T. H. S. The class sponsor, Mrs. Hart led the Junior class gloriously through all of these activities of their Junior year and to the promised land. In September 1960 the class entered Canaan with Conroy Lacy as president and Mrs. Hart as sponsor. The Seniors of '61 reign supreme in all school activities,This wasa logical climax for the outstanding class which entered T, H. S. in 1949. To Dear old T. H. S, --- We the Seniors of T. H. S. will always cherish in our hearts memories of many happy days spent in your halls and class rooms ---- on your football fields and your basketball courtsg as our last and most heartfelt wish may we add: T, H. S. I ---- May she ever reign supreme, ---- and may we never fail in what ever work we may do.
