THE 1968 LUMBERJACK Tupper Lake High School Tupper Lake, New York Dedication Mr. Kahn’s grave concern for our growth and development during our short stay in high school has given us direction not only in the academic areas but also in our behavioral patterns. He has an interest in the “whole animal” and approaches his job with this attitude. As a consequence of his touching our lives, we have responded by growing and developing under his tutorage. It is with heartfelt gratitude and appreciation that the Class of 1968 dedicates this book to a man who has dedicated himself to us. Administration Members of the Board of Education: Mr. B. LaBarge. He spends the greater portion of his waking day arranging music, giving individual lessons and conducting the band. We students of Tupper Lake High School wish to extend our appreciation and thanks to Mr. Stearns. 42 Junior Band Under the expert hand of Mr. Donald Stearns the Tupper Lake High School Band has grown and flourished as ah organization that everyone at Tupper Lake High School can be proud of. It has become more than just a typical high school band both in the selections it plays and the fine execution of these numbers. The band at various times splits into smaller groups for special occasions: Pep Band with its trumpet ensemble plays at basketball and football games; the Woodchoppers-stage and dance band featuring fine soloists such as Chuck Martin on sax. Bill Mozdzier on trumpet. Chuck Mozdzier on drums and Mr. Stearns himself on trumpet and piano, have performed for such events as the all-new faculty-student Pops Concert. In addition to the regular band, there is the Jr. Band. These aspiring young musicians will become the backbone of the Tupper Lake High School Band in years to come. 43 Jr. Hi Science Club 44 The Play’s the Thing 45 National Honor Society Two Year Members: Bottom Row: Darlene Blanton, Theresa Frechette, Carol Chapman, Pres.; Paula Amell.
