DEDICATION In his few years at T.L.H.S., Mr. Mercurio has gained the respect and admiration of all his students. In the classroom he has been a tireless and dynamic teacher; outside the classroom he has been a sympathetic listener to our complaints and problems. Therefore, in recognition of his outstanding ability as a teacher and his virtues of friendliness and helpfulness, the Senior Class dedicates this year's edition of the TUHISEAN to Mr. John Anthony Mercurio. ADMINISTRATION BOARD OF EDUCATION--SEATED: Mr. L. Cheverette. Mr. R. Kenniston, Mr. L. Oldfield. STANDING: Mr. G. Rowley. Mr. B. LaBarge. The Board of Education, Mr. Donovan, and Mr. Baker have worked hard for us during our years in high school. The Senior Class now wishes to thank them for all their efforts to give us the best possible education. ADMINISTRATION--Principal, Mr. Fred Baker; Superintendent, Mr. Joseph Donovan. CLASS COLORS: Cranberry and Pink CLASS FLOWER: Snowball CLASS SONG Time Grows Short by George Reandeau Do you recall when we were small and our life in school began, We couldn’t wait till it was time to run back home again. But time grows short, and the roads are long, and we'll each go a different way. Yes time grows short, and the roads are long and we'll each go a different way. We'd laugh and sing, and make new friends but now we come to say, Those carefree hours, that went so fast, were very precious days. Cause time grows short, and the roads are long, and we'll each go a different way. Yes, time grows short, and the roads are long, and we'll each go a different way. They say we're young, but we all know, you don't measure youth in years. As we look back, we all can see, how it cost us a million tears. And time grows short, and the roads are long, and we'll each go a different way. SENIOR ADVISORS--Mr. Felio. Miss Proulx. Mr. Crouse, Mr. Quinn. The Senior Class wishes to express its gratitude to all of those who helped them during their memorable high school years. Special thanks go to the faculty for their infinite patience and guidance. We hope that all the underclassmen will enjoy themselves in high school as much as we did; we all agree the time passed too quickly. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the TUHISEAN staff on the fine work that is displayed among these pages. The boys and girls spent long hours after school working diligently to present these memories of our past and our hopes for the future. OFFICERS--Nelson Trombley, Pres. OUR HISTORY In our first year of high school, we elected the following officers: President, William Sabin; Vice-president, Anne Recore; Treasurer, Nelson Trombley; Secretary, Sandra Bayhylle. Under the guidance of Mr. Whitlock, we presented The Farmer's Daughter , a one-act play. In it starred Lynne Bailey, Lynn Chapman, Sandra Churco, Terrance O'Donnell, George Reandeau, and Nelson Trombley. In our Sophomore year we elected Nelson Trombley, President; Sandra Churco, Vice-president; William Sabin, Treasurer, and Louise Martin, Secretary. We, also, held a car wash that year and had a great time splashing in the water. Our Junior year came, and Nelson Trombley, Sandra Churco, Allen Murray, and Susan Futterman were elected to the offices of president, vice-president, treasurer, and secretary, respectively. We had four members tapped into the National Honor Society -- Lynn Chapman, Sandra Churco, Susan Futterman, and Louise Martin. At Christmas time we became the proud owners of our class rings. In May we helped plan the Junior-Senior Prom and chose Susan Futterman, Princess, and William Sabin, Prince. In September of 1964, we began our last year at T.L.H.S. To lead us we chose Nelson Trombley, President; Sandra Churco, Vice-president; George Reandeau, Treasurer; and Louise Martin, Secretary. Early in the year we elected Susan Futterman editor of the TUHISEAN with eleven other able members to aid her. In November seven members were initiated into the National Honor Society. They were tapped in the following order: David Jenkins, Anne Recore, George Reandeau, Nelson Trombley, Andre Lanthier, Lorene Woods, and Allen Murray. We had a National Merit Semi-finalist -- David Jenkins, and Sandra Churco received a letter of commendation. We, also, were honored to have Patricio Poblete, from Santiago, Chile, with us. We hope he enjoys his Senior year as much as we are enjoying ours. In December the Senior boys played basketball with the faculty for the benefit of the Faculty Scholarship Fund. We are sorry to report that the teachers won 48 to 82. We are still looking forward to spring and the activities it will bring -- the Senior Tea, Junior-Senior Prom, Senior Banquet and Ball, and Graduation! This man is unique in the way he instills pep in the most downtrodden team, or develops the will to win in every participant. As the success of our sports teams continues to flourish so does the skill at which “Coach Tice builds a winning team. I am sure the entire school joins us in congratulating him for the fine job he has done, and “Best Wishes in his future coaching career.
