CLASS MOTTO Let each become all that he is capable of being CLASS COLORS Aqua and Silver CLASS FLOWERS Pink Carnations CLASS HISTORY In September of 1956, we the new Freshmen, were probably the only class anxious to start school because we were to start our high school years. Led by Tim Bannon, President; June La Valley, Vice-President; Lynn LaRocque, Secretary; Richard Lemieux, Treasurer; we were ready to start our year’s activities. • Our first project was entering into the Christmas decorations contest. When the rules finally permitted us, we began with paint, paper and brushes in hand. After the diligent work--the reward. We won first prize. In the months to follow, we had a foodsale whose success we owe to our mothers because most of the food there was due to their efforts. We had a very profitable record hop that year also. Upon returning in the fall of'57 as Sophomores with many new ideas, we elected Tim Bannon, Linda Soucy, Lynn LaRocque, and Wayne Pickering as officers. To prove we were an ambitious class we had another dance this year. It turned out very well. In the Spring we tried our first attempt at a class assembly. Using T.V. programs as our theme, we had a hilarious assembly enjoyed by everyone. Then rolled around our Junior year. As officers, Richard Trick, Linda Currier, June La Valley and David Woods. We were looking forward to this year because we were to select our class rings. Under the guidance of Mr. Baker, we were the first class to have a standard ring for Tupper Lake High School. Our first activity this year was our concession stand at all home football games. This proved to be a very worthwhile money-making project for our class. The next big event of the year for Juniors was our Penny Carnival. Our booths and games certainly brought in the money that night. It was a huge success. Itching for some new ideas, we decided to have a Sock Hop with prizes for the funniest pairs of socks. Come Spring of ’59 it was prom time. Cooperating with the Seniors we had the biggest dance of the year Stardust Serenade’ . Many students in our class have participated in other activities --band, basketball and football, cheerleading and many of our school’s clubs. This has filled our past years with fun, excitement and memories. Although we hate to leave our Alma Mater and all our teachers and friends, we bid a fond farewell to Tupper High. CLASS I960
