THERE IS A HISTORY OF ALL MEN'S LIVES The Class of '53 has come a long way since it started as Freshmen in 1949. As Freshmen we elected Roy Dupuis, Valerie Woods, Glenwood Charland and Vera Fortune as President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary respectively. Not knowing much about high school we were a little afraid, but confidence in ourselves soon grew. We had one party that year with Miss Malakie and Mr. Tooley as our advisers. Moving on to the Sophomore Class we knew a little more about high school. That year we sponsored a Food Sale which was very successful. We also had a class party. George Kasper, Valerie Woods, Everett Roberson and Carol Moody were the officers that year, with Mr. Baker and Mrs. Forkey as our advisers. When we became members of the Junior Class in 1951, we acquired more confidence than ever before. Our first project that year was a square dance which turned out very successfully. The biggest success of the year was our junior Prom. With the gym beautifully decorated we drew a huge crowd which made the dance a success in every way. Gerry Garrelts, Adele Gagnier, jack Dumoulin and Myrtle Bianca were our officers in 1951-'52. Entering our last year of high school the Class of '53 elected Byron Park, President, Adele Gagnier, Vice-Presidentg Charles Hathaway, Treasurer and Valerie Woods, Secretary. This year we have had two square dances and the annual Penny Carnival. Plans are being made for the Senior Ball and Class Day. Now that we are leaving Tupper Lake High School we realize how much it has meant to us. We know that the Senior Class of 1953 has left a record to be proud of and we hope that everyone will remember us. 20
