He is pleading his case to the governor for minors to be allowed to enter banded pool halls. At the same time lawyers Tommy DeWitte and Bob Weaver are putting in their two cents for the repeal of prohibition. Listening eagerly to these outstanding lawyers are Judy Walters and Eloise Williams, trying to pick up a few pointers to take home. These politics are too deep, let's look to the brighter side. At the next table is zoo- keeper jimmy Perabo and his monkey-trainer, Earl Moody, who are getting acquainted with the Toni twins, Martha McGaughy and Katherine Maxey. Near by is a member of the higher ups, aerialist Betty jo McCarley who is seriously considering a position just offered by Mary Alice Barnes, business agent for the Barnes Sisters Circus Qin case you're curious, all the brothers were eaten up by lions.j Mary Alice features the finest of entertainers, including Billy Swift, known as ujughead-the jugglerf' Busily looking about the room for possible talent is the distinguished Robert Prather, owner of the string of Malco theaters. Some celebrities employed regularly by Mr. Prather are Miriam Stacy and Curley Stephens, of the famous vaudeville act, Reba Sprouse and Roy Wascomb fwho will probably receive offers from the Met soon J. Bobby Camp Wilson with his singing guitar, and that famous stand-in for Laur- en Bacall, Ann Gilpin. We hear that Nona Ewing, concert pianist, is called in often for her expert advice. Also missing from this gala occasion is Reverend Harry London, drummer Paul Wald- en and songtress Sara Alice Renshaw, who were detained by previous business with the Salvation Army. But among those who are very much present and enjoying themselves are nurses Ruby Faye Roberts and Martha Woods, the two women in dentist William Moore's life. That is, besides his little wife, the former Carolyn Waters, who is still as pretty as ever. And there's the mayor, Clark Strain, busily discussing the affairs of the -day with his steady girl friend, jane Reed. It is rumored that when the two are married an old flame of the bride's, Charles Ballard, will be the best man. Wait! Who is that running out with his little black bag? A doctor going to save a life? No! It's plumber Davis E. Nash on another mission of mercy. What's going to happen next? Now banker john Ray Beasley is crawling around under the tables. fBut, after all, a man's teeth are pretty necessary at a banquet.j

CHe's at last given up his political career.j Evelyn Newman, who recently came out with the meaty best-seller, Forever Amy, is getting some information for a new book from Marion Oller, head nurse at the hospital. Marion tells her that jean Guthrie and jean Huffman, who are on her staff, will be interesting material to write about. Another interesting subject might be the story of that dynamic love affair of Doris Gunner and Bobby Beggs, check on that, Ev. There's Bill jackson, who teaches Calculus at the University of Colorado. Well, surprising things do happen! Professor tells us that Virginia Franklin is one of his most promising pupils. Looking as stylish as ever are the owners of the We Do The Impossible Beauty Shop, jean Cathcart and Louise Campbell. It is rumored that jean Jones is suing Charles because the stripes of her dye job have run together. Frank Robinson will represent her case to district attorney Robert Gibson. Speaking of scandals-just listen to jewel expert Sue Ramsey tell Katherine Hinds that her necklace is a fake. Wiggles declares that it is a gift from Bill Parnell, who got it while on his latest hunting expedition in Africa. And what is this touching scene? Charles Pyle, All-American football player, is giving his gold football to Donna Sue Hodges. Oh! Oh! Lulu Grantham, owner of the Coca-Cola Bottling Company, seems to be becoming quite angry with Bobbie Long and Bonnie Kennedy because they are trying to drown their love troubles in Pepsi-Cola, of all things!
