After winning the BHL title, the girls advanced to the district meet in Longview where they were also champions. The state meet in Port Townsend ended the season on a positive note for the T- Birds when the team placed third, paced by the eighth place finish of Vicki lvlcClune. Practicing every afternoon by running an average of six miles through unpredictable weather prepared the team for meets covering distances between 2 3fA and 3 miles over rough terrain. The team was a neat bunch of kids, stated Coach Dav,e Annonen. Led by captains Vicki lvlcClune and Danica Benner, the team reached most of the goals they set for the season.
