M4W f Dale Smith pounds a base hit. i Doug Jones' slide beats the throw home and l scores the winning run for the T-Birds. The 1986 baseball campaign was filled with games that were won or lost on last minute heroics. Several games ended in ties, which were completed in dramatic sudden death competitions. 'The T- Bird team was made up largely of seniors backed by a very good pitching staff, stated coach Bob Keuhl. Throughout the excitement of the season, the T-Birds moved towards a post season playoff berth, coach Keuhl added. The 'T-Bird Spirit was an important part of the junior varsity baseball season. Inexperience made for some difficult times but the team's attitude carried them through the season. The freshman team was composed of a large number of very enthusiastic players who combined a balance of good pitching, hitting and defense together to finish with a succesful record. Ryan Whitney's sacrifice bunt scores a run against Chehalis.
