Coach Ward was honored during halftime of his last T-Bird home game. After 25 years of coaching basketball, THS head coach Bill Ward retired at the conclusion of the 85-86 season. Coach Ward was the first baketball coach at THS and led many of his teams to league, district, regional and state competitions. A positive and aggresive attitude led the T-Bird wrestling team to many individual match wins and a share of the Black Hills League team championship. Led by seniors Chip Miller and Chris Sieg, the wrestlers finished with a 7-2 record, highlighted by a 34-23 win over then league leading Chehalis. Excellent conditioning, both physically and mentally and an aggressive wrestling style by individual T-Bird wrestlers combined to produce a succesful season for the entire team. Sophomore Kevin Pidone counters with a takedown.
