The nine member yell staff prepared for their seasons by attending cheer camps during the summer where they received superior ratings and spirit awards. Their support of the football and basketball teams ranged from organizing car caravans and rooters' busses, painting posters for pep assemblies and games to taking the teams to breakfast and helping out at unity camp. They also spent many hours practicing their cheers and routines they performed during pep assemblies and at games. The cheerleaders also sponsored activities to both increase school spirit and raise money to help pay for their uniforms and camps. They put on a school wide best legs contest, a cupcake lotto and a little girls' mini-cheer camp. 147
