'llhe famous trouble-getting-into English teach- er, Xliss llroolcs, was effectively portrayed by ,lanet l'sher. fufarol Carlton was Wlrs. Allen, the harsh memlwr of the school board and cloting mother. ,lane tlrene llriggsl the teen-ager who is in love with 'l'c1l ll'hil Ylickelsonl, the school's top basketball star. 'l'he coach lllavid Whitel, while completely unaware of the fact, captured lliss l!roolt's heart.
