FORWARD l950-a half century of progress has wrought many changes in Tully's educational system! VVe should be rightly proud of our progressive school with its many modern conveniences. Let us briefly go back fifty years and visit the Tully Union and High School of 1900. Headed by Mr. E. Stanley Martin, as principal, a faculty of seven made up the teaching staff for the grade and high school. A very limited number of subjects was taught, such as: Latin, modern languages, English, music, typewriting and shorthand. Along with these was the Tully Training Class, one of the four in the entire state. The students were proud of their new school building, with its modern coal heating system, with foot warmers in the hall. They also took great pleasure in riding their bicycles in the new basement, for here were provided two Wheel Rooms, a boys'-and girls'. Today, Tully Central School, with its faculty of thirty-four, offers us courses for college entrance and many vocations such as: business, agriculture, art. physical education, home economics, industrial arts, music and dramatics. Centralization has given the many students in this area new educational advan- tages. Thirty well lighted classrooms, a beautiful auditorium with a seating capacity of 600, and a well equipped gymnasium, have added to the pleasures of school life. Our student body is growing rapidly, and future years point to another new building, offering new learning experiences. The class of '51 is proud of its school. We consider it a privilege to be living in this era. Fifty years of progress has provided for us unlimited educa- tional opportunities. DAVID NVHITIL, Editor-in'Chief
