A student in shop class also knows that time and dexterity can change a towering redwood tree into lumber and ultimately into a beautiful bedroom suite, desk, or dining table, The same two ingredients, time and dexterity, can change a lonely, vacant, weed-infested lot into a warm, friendly home. Ask a student in shop if it is not rewarding to see what he can accomplish with lumber, nails, the dexterity of his hands and time. You see, miracles take place each day, even in a T,H,S xl. Since the interest was so high, a Spanish Club was begun for those studying Spanish, As is the rule for all new clubs, the Spanish Club could not have a regular meeting day in activity period. As a result, there were few meetings during the year. However, next year the tlub will becomea full- fledged member of THS's growing number of extracurri- cular activities and will have a regular meeting day. The study of Spanish is a step toward improving the relations of the United States with its nearest neighbor, Mexico, and is especially helpful in promoting peace and understanding between the two nations, In adding Spanish to the curriculum, THS is expanding the educational opportunities, thus giving the students a wider range of subjects and providing students with better qualifi- cations for college.
