Ijrmczmlis Af! essage The Argus theme for this year is most appropriate In the rush of keeping up with the many activities in a large high school we sometimes overlook the basic fact that the classroom program is of prime importance and that excel lence in this area is the achievement of greatest value for a student The many extra activities like the dessert of a meal are supplemental to the main course and must be so regarded if a proper diet is to be maintained The acceptance of these basic values in both learning and dining is an indi cation of a level of maturity which it seems to me high school students should have attained Keith V Waite 0 7 - D - I I - 1 9 .

Superznfeudmfiv Message Considering the fact that each one of you has a better chance of reaching maturity and old age than have the people in the generatlons before twenty years from now you will very llkely be a man or woman at the prime of life The heartening aspect of th1s picture is that you have within your hands the capacity to mold your l1fe so that that man or woman whom you will be w1ll be the sort of person you really want him or her to be The next step is that you must be willing to make the sacrifices and put forth the effort necessary for the molding of this individual who is to be you at 37 or 38 years4ofage Fortunately you were born in a country which has dedicated itself to the principle of education for all American youths so you do not even have to do lt all on your own as their are a great many people not only willing but anxious to help you in achieving the purpose you have set for yourself Unfortunately of the graduating seniors each year only a small percentage have tried to V1SU811Z9 the klnd of person they would like to be twenty years after graduation and only a small percentage of these are w1lling to make the effort to make their dreams a reality The life you have is yours The person you become will be the result of your own investments To you goes the credit whether the results be good or Donovan F Cartwright --no, I won't say that. Invest wisely in yourself and the results will be good.
