CAPTAIN J.P. LAW USN PRESENT CCMMANDING OFFICER Captain Jason P. Law, U.S. Navy, is a native of Belvidere, Illinois, and was graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1948. His first assignment was to the Norfolk based destroyer USS DYESS QDDR- 880J. During the Korean War, he served aboard USS MERGANSER IAMS-201, where he was awarded the Navy Commendation Medal. Subsequent to attending Submarine School, he served in USS K-2 QSSK- 2y, USS TENCH ISS-4173, USS JACK ISS-259l, USS CRCAKER ISS-2463, and USS KITTIWAKE QASR-133. He has commanded USS SARDA ISS- 480l and USS SEA LEOPARD ISS- 483y. Shore and staff assignments have included duty with the Naval Ships Systems Command, Staff of Commander Anti-Submarine War- fare Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, and Staff of Commander Submarine Squadron SIX. In June 1969, Captain Law assumed command of the USS TULARE QLKA-1127. Captain Law is a graduate of the Command and Staff Course at the U.S. Naval War College and holds the degree of Master of Arts in International Affairs from George Washington University. Mrs. Law is the former Sue Far- quharson of Washington, D.C. She and Captain Law have three chil- dren: Robert, Jason, and Ives.
