lcwo iotory In the fall of 1960, sixteen green freshmen climbed the steps of Tulare High School. The class consisted of Eugene Feldsien, Patty Wendland, Lynne Lips, Sandra Swaney, Robert French, Gordon Marzahn, Rodney Ost, John Brugger, Dale Erickson, Richard Hansen, Kevin Wendland, Roger Frankenstein, Sandra Beard, Robert Fountain, Gloria Fliehe, and Kenny Binger. Class officers for our freshman 'year were: Eugene Feldsien, president, Patty Wendland, vice-president, Lynne Lips, secretary-treasurer. Mr. Donald Archer was our advisor. Those participating in football were Roger Frankenstein, Kenny Binger, Rodney Ost, Gordon Marzahn, Robert Fountain, Eugene Feldsien, and Robert French. Basketball was another activity that most of the boys parti- cipated in. Eugene Feldsien, Gordon Marzahn, Roger Frankenstein, Rodney Ost, and Richard Hansen participated in track. All the girls participated in girls' physical education class. Sandra Swaney, Gloria Fliehe, Patty Wendland, Sandra Beard, Roger Frankenstein, Robert Fountain, John Brugger, and Richard Hansen were in chorus. Richard Hansen was in declam. Lynne Lips, Kevin Wendland, Roger Frankenstein, and Sandra Swaney were in band. One of the memorable events for the year was the Sweethearts Ball. Lynne Lips and Rodney Ost were Prince and Princess. Gordon Marzahn was an attendant. Our year was brought to a close by a picnic at Cottonwood Lake. All of us returned for our sophomore year except Robert French. Our advisor was Mr. Richard Fliss. Class officers for the year were Rodney Ost, president, Gordon Marzahn, ViC6-p1'6Side11t3 and Eugene Feldsien, secretary-treasurer. Those participating in football were Roger Franken- stein, Richard Hansen, Gordon Marzahn, Eugene Feldsien, Rodney Ost, Robert Fountain, and Kenny Binger. Those participating in basketball were Eugene Feldsien, Robert Fountain, Rodney Ost, and Gordon Marzahn. Track boys were John Brugger, Kenny Binger, Richard Hansen, Roger Frankenstein, Eugene Feldsien, Gordon Marzahn, Robert Fountain, and Rodney Ost. Band mem- bers this year were Kevin Wendland, Lynne Lips, and Roger Frankenstein. Patty Wendland, Sandra Swaney, Sandra Beard, Robert Fountain, Roger Frankenstein, John Brugger, and Richard Hansen were in chorus. Lynne Lips, Sandra Swaney, and Eugene Feldsien were attendants at the Sweethearts Ball. At the close of the year we enjoyed a picnic at Cottonwood Lake. In our junior year the class consisted of fourteen students. Roger Frankenstein left us at the end of our sophomore year. Officers for the year were Sandra Swaney, president, Kevin Wend- land, vice-presidentg and Lynne Lips, secretary-treasurer. Our advisors were Mrs. Nancy Brig- ham and Mr. Donald Archer. Football participants were Eugene Feldsien, Rodney Ost, Robert Fountain, Richard Hansen, and Kenny Binger. Eugene Feldsien, Robert Fountain, Rodney Ost, and Gordon Marzahn were in basketball. Rodney Ost, Robert Fountain, Richard Hansen, Gordon Marzahn, Dale Erickson, and Eugene Feldsien were in track. All the junior girls participated in girls' P. E. Lynne Lips, Kevin Wendland, and Patty Wendland were in band. Sandra Swaney was majorette for the marching band. Gloria Fliehe, Sandra Swaney, Sandra Beard, Patty Wendland, and Richardl-Iansenwere in chorus. Sandra Swaney was in Declam. All of the juniors were in their Junior play, Man Overboard. The Juniors also decorated for the Junior-Senior Prom. The theme was Magic Moments in Paree, Sweethearts Ball attendant was Lynne Lips. Kevin Wendland was chosen for Girls' State, and Rodney Ost was chosen for Boys' State. We ended our year with a picnic at Cottonwood Lake. In August, 1963, we returned for our senior year, Thirteen members returned with Fred Strick- landjoining the class. Robert Fountain left after the first nine weeks, thus leaving our class at thirteen again. Class officers for the year were Kevin Wendland, president, Lynne Lips, vice- president, Sandra Beard, secretary, and Eugene Feldsien, treasurer. Rodney Ost was chosen Student Council president, and Richard Hansen was Student Council representative. Those parti- cipating in football were Rodney Ost, Eugene Feldsien, and Gordan Marzahn. Gordon Marzann, Eugene Feldsien, and Rodney Ost also participated in basketball. Several of the boys went out for track. Sandra Swaney and Gloria Fliehe were the only two girls participating in girls' P.E. Lynne Lips, Kevin Wendland, and Gloria Fliehe were in band. Sandra Swaney was majorette. Gloria Fliehe, Sandra Swaney, Sandra Beard, and Richard Hansen were in chorus. Sandra Swaney was chosen for All-State Chorus. Lynne Lips and Rodney Ost were elected king and queen for the Sweethearts Ball with Sandra Swaney, Gene Feldsien, and Gordon Marzahn as attendants. All students participated in the Senior play entitled, Meet the Princess. The Juniors gave us a very beautiful banquet which was enjoyed by everyone. The Senior Class of 1964 would like to thank everyone who have helped us in getting our education at THS. 16
