' ,,Vgm-V,,,. TULARE is a versatile Ship but the '67-'68 Cruise proved it like it had never been proven before. TULARE switched between missions quickly and efficiently. One day she was refueling underway and days later she was resupplying carriers by both burtoning rigs and helicopters. During shore resupply missions she operated her boats through every imaginable surf condition, over every type of bottom, up rivers, over sand bars, during all types of weather, both night and day. The crew also worked with nearly every type of amphibious craft built. She also conducted salvage operations for a lost BARC and perfected a fantail unrep with her own boats when the weather turned rough. TULARE made it all look easy. THE ERSATILE 'Q M Q. J xxx
