This car go includes, but is not limited to vehicles ammunition, gasoline, rations, and medi cal supplies. The TULARE also carries a limited number of troops. The TULARE has six cargo holds in which she carries cargo. She has over 300,000 cu. ft. for use as cargo space. She can carry up to 140 vehicles of various sizes ranging from jeeps, trailers, and artillery pieces to large trucks and tanks She is capable of carrying over 2,300 55 gallon drums of gasoline in her gasoline spaces. To handle this load she is equipped with four sixty-ton booms and several smaller capacity booms. To transport this cargo to the beach the TULARE carries a total of twenty boats The TULARE is also equipped with a heli- copter platform which can be used to trans- port vitally needed troops and supplies to the beach or island.
