I ' ' d t fo rtime in tran- PIEX l-60 started the ball rollina and occupie par o u sit to lapan. Drills and other exercises took up the remainder. Qnce in WestPac our GoodyWill tour of lapan was next on the agenda. This I, was in turn followed by independent steamina to and from various ports , in the Far 'East carrying Marines and their equipment. A Blue Star gave me the opportunity to see the whole TULARE team! in action toaether and l was very pleased with the outcome. Perhaps our most important mission in WestPac was to further the President's People to People program to foster mutual. relations be tween our country and our friends in the Par East. ln, every way,' yo men of the TULARE can be proud of the record you established and tn many friends you made for TULARE.
