DIVI I0 0 As the campus community becomes more and more developed and complicated, the significance of the division of student life is made more clear. The various student personnel oihcers on the staff of the Dean of Students are responsible for the inte- gration of the social, cultural, and recreational life of the student in such a Way that an atmosphere will be created wherein the learning process may best be fostered. By means of the orientation program at the begin- ning of the academic year, the personnel staff strives to assist new students in making the difficult transition DEAN JoHN H. STIBBS Dean of Students TUDE LIFE from reliance on parents to reliance on themselves, from a living experience within the family to life in the residence halls or group experience in large cam- pus organizations. Through a counselling system both in the office of the Dean of Students and in the residence halls, and through a faculty advisory system in the student or- ganizations, the othce of the Dean of Students attempts to bring the influence of the faculty to bear upon the students in and out ofthe class room hours. ln this Way it is hoped to promote the best possible relations among the students themselves and between the students and the members of the faculty. The administration of Tulane University is a tre- mendous joh requiring many specific duties. The uAdministratorsH are the men and women who hold these varied positions in our university. Each has a specialty and is the director of his field on the campus. This group includes Vice-Presidents, Directors, Deans, and Counselors. Behind them, in their departments, is the functioning of the technical and financial units of Tulane. AD As the leaders of their respective divisions, the HAdministrators,, are in a position to meet the student and the puhlic, so we here picture and name them.
