The Rattler baseball squad came through in their usual winning manner this year. They passed through the season with a record of 8 wins and 4 losses. The pitchers, who were able to compile this fine record, were Sammy Kent and Titi Montano. The team, under the able coaching of Bob Hart, moved steadily toward the coveted trip to the state championship playoffs. In the final game before the playoffs, the Rattlers were defeated by East Las Vegas 5 to 3. The annual F.F.A . Barbecue was held on April 19, 1958. The members gave their usual excellent care to the slowly simmering meat, and the result was a tasty compli- ment to their indusuious efforts. The F.H.A . girls serve the barbecue. Left to right: Tom Smith, Nancy Henry, Mela Benavidez, Wanda Arnett, Evelyn White, l Lester I-larguess, James Cate, David Brown, and Mr. Clyle Wells, a Crazy Daze participator, and Louis Benavidez prepare to remove the meat at Raymond Benavidez wait in the food line. 9 a.m. The contented looks of the barbecue eaters is a lasting compli- ment to an industrious endeavor. A large crowd was on hand to partake of the meal presented by these hard working young gentle- men of the Tucumcari F.F.A. Chapter.
