Using Disneyland as their theme, the Junior class captured the honors of the hall decorating competition. This was the second time in THS history that the seniors didn't win the award. The sale of corsages and boutonnieres took place throughout the week with proceeds going to COE. The climax of the Homecoming festivities was the crowning of the king and queen, Martin Villegas and Adela Palafox. The queen and her attendants were driven around the stadium in Ford T-Birds. Rodeo Boots, cowboy hats and other western gear signaled the beginning of Rodeo Week. ln order to display their rodeo spirit, students were encouraged to buy western style garter belts made by the members of the Student Council.
