W Students' interests ranged from pursuing hobbies and crafts to training and working on jobs. Students played instruments in bands and ensembles as pastimes. Concerts at the Tucson Community Center's Arena and Music Hall highlighted the year for many. Crafts included making stained glass in private studios, drawing, painting and model building at home. Students' jobs varied widely. Training for positions such as assistant managers enabled a few to earn extra money and at the same time gain more responsibility. Others volunteered their time to do community service work and participated in political campaigns.
