Our present building, designed for approximately 2000 students, includes 60 classrooms, a large library, a fine shop facility, a spacious and modern gym, ana' six well-equipped scientzyic laboratories. This is our fliflielh year as a high school We feel that our age has helped to give us a wisdom and a heritage of which all Tucker High School students, faculty, alumni, and patrons of the community can be quite proud. In academic pursuits, dramatics, art, technology, staff capabilities, facilities, and athletic endeavors, ,Tucker High School must take a back seat to no one. While we are certain that the students in each and every one of the past hfty years have considered their accomplishments and their en joyments to be supreme, we are positive that the great- est of all the years is the current one, our fiftieth, 1968. Smallwood succeeded Mr. Turpin as princi- pal. In 1966 Tucker High SchooL with an enrollment of almost 2000, set the state on its ear by moving into AAA competition and winning several literary events, finishing in the top four in football, and winning a second straight State Baseball Championship. In I 96 7a part ofthe Tucker and Lakeside High School districts was used to create Henderson High School.
