We are suddenly in Atlanta, Georgia. Walking down Peachtree, we glance up to see that Bobby Furlong's Orchestra is currently appearing in the Paradise Room. Tickling the ivory's is the popular pianist Reid Hopkins, Gayle Former is featured as soloist. We are stopped by the large crowd that lines the sidewalk as a parade passes. A man is waving from the back seat of a black limousine. Ile must be someone of vast importance. At last he is turning around so that I can see his face, lfdwin lieclf by hard work and honesty has become Mayor. Now I am swiftly carried back to Tucker, Georgia. I see a pretty white cottage with hedges running around the cottage, and children running around the hedges. Phyllis Kennedy and Larry Potts finally married and settled down here. As I walk down Main Street in Tucker, I see a large sign that says, Alice's Beauty Salon. .llice lfolader has finally become a hair stylist, and opened her own shop. Coming out of the post office is xlnn lledloclf. She tells me that she is an English teacher at the high school, and that Lanette Broolrs is Food Iidi- tor for the Ladies Home Journal. As I continue my journey down the street, I meet Representative lfverette Bailey. Ile tells me that he intends to run for Lieutenant Governor in the coming Primary. Peggy lllieeler, Pat Russell, and Peggy .llcljee have formed a trio, and are appearing daily on Tucker's new radio station. .llarina Lovern has opened a new bakery and seems to be doing very well. Now I see a large sign that says Royce's Grill. I decide to investigate further and find that Royce llardernan is the owner. The head waitress is none other than Donna ll eaver. There's folznny Pickens and .llclfurdy llillirzms who have become great lawyers, and are expecting to wed two members of the Tucker social set next month. And whom do you think owns the city's only florist, Dianne llcllonald. There's Carry lloon, the town sheik. llc has toured the world from coast to coast, but still re mains an old bachelor. CLASS PROPH ECY Ah, I begin to see light. I shall now' be able to read the future. I shall look into the mys- teries of the unknown and tell each member of the Senior Class what he or she shall be doing ten years from now. Who is this I see coming down the street? He is riding in a magnificent automobile. He stops at a bank and goes inside. Frank Pittman has become President of a large bank. Now I see a great crowd of people who are all shouting and waving their hands. They are waiting for someone who is coming down the street bowing from left to right. Paul Whelchel has just been elected Governor, and is on his way to Inaugural Ceremonies. We are now on board an ocean liner headed for France. As I walk past the Captain's quarters the name on the door attracts my attention. Captain Benny Bryson. I could not pass without saying hello. He told me that Brenda Chestnut was his secretary on the liner. As I leave his quarters I see a couple sitting on deck that seem to be very much in love. As I get nearer their faces seem very familiar. Linda Melton and .lohnny Smith are on their honeymoon. While in Paris I see a woman with dark hair and brown eyes, and by her smile I recognize her, my old school mate fo Nan Freeman. By her stylish ways she has become a hat designer. The scene changes, we are now in Florida. I see a woman short and fair, whom I think I have seen before. Why yes, Nancy Dillard has become the owner of a large fruit farm and spends all her time raising oranges and bananas. While out West I see a large ranch, but who is the blonde giving instructions to all the cowhands. Donna Todd has become the owner of the largest ranch in Texas. In Hollywood, California, I call in at M. G. M. Studio to see Barbara Cain and Linda Bennett, the two famous movie stars who are now playing in a nursery. Billy Neu' is the Make-Up Artist for M. G. M. One of the movie stars he made famous by his make up work is lean Cox. Alf: We are now in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, at Convention Hall. The Boston Celtics have just defeated the Philadelphia Warriors, in a National Basketball game, as Bobby fohnson and Eddy Frazier took care of the defensive and offensive duties for the Celtics. The scene changes quickly to Baltimore, Mary- land. I see a large building with everything very still and quiet around it. Then I see a hospital sign on the lawn. As I enter the building whom do l see at the information desk but Linda lludgins. She tells me that Shirley llilliams and Rachel Sex- ton are nurses in the hospital. As I walk down Broadway in New York City, whom do I meet? None other than David Page. lie has become a great doctor and has won more fame in his profession than did john D. Rockefeller, Thomas A. Edison, or Henry Ford. Then I find myself in a cab driving along the crowded boulevard. As we pass the Stork Club a great number of people are trying to get in. Then I notice the billboard which reads, The Stork Llub features fan Padgett, The Female Iilvis Presley. My hand falls on a newspaper lying on the seat beside me. The headlines catch my interest, Tell Hughes has been elected President of the United States. fiflmon llillis is Vice-President. As I turn through the paper I see where Gloria Sorrells has been voted Best Dressed Woman of the World. My attention is drawn to a picture on the right. Oh, yes, The Man of the Year is Wayne Hannah, owner of the Atlanta Journal, the largest newspaper in the South. As I turn to the sports section I see where Bob Russell has arrived in Daytona Beach, Florida, for this years Convertible Race. Bob has won more times, and set more records than any other driver who has ever tested his skills on the hot sands of the beaches. Thomas Ingle jockeyed home another winner in ' ethe million dollar Kentucky Derby. Swimming star fo Helen Britt has added another record to her list of six. She swam in the thirteen
