Juniors and Seniors attended groundbreaking ceremonies for new elementary school. After seeing film in Family Relations Class, seniors decide maybe marriage isn't so bad after all. Class Government started functioning, three seniors boys caught smoking in film room, Seniors selected caps and gowns. Basketball game with Bethesda. Boys wou--girls lost. Mr. Henderson doesn't like seniors in little groups. Four whole days of freedom. Seniors glad to be back---Happy Birthday Jimmy C. Game with Conyers there, Girlswon---boys lost. Mrs. Coulee discovers seniors never learned to spell. Seniors ou the loose, visiting departments of DeKalb County Government, Half the seniors absent, not many classes today. Miss Jones put seniors to work in Home Economic Building. Game with South West DeKalb here. Girls and boys lost. Seniors plan to have Christmas party. Seniors get out at lunch for Christmas shopping, Game with Lithonia there. Boys and girls won, Saw film in Family Relations Class Is it Really Love? Looks as if Janice is the first senior girl to catch her man. Congratulations. Christmas party in library---much fun. Mrs. Coulee seemed to like her things, Happy Birthday Jimmy M. Mrs. Hutchen's doesn't seem to like decorations in library. Christmas party in gym for high school. Back to school ---- Happy Birthday Joyce G. and Annette. Happy Birthday Janice! Elizabeth is not far behind you, Janice, she's caught her man too. Mr. Goolsby set seniors straight on county tax. Game with St. Mt, here. Boys won and girls lost. After deciding seniors weren't quite straight on the taxes, Mr. Goolsby had Mr. Moss out. Game with Avondale there. Girls won--boys lost. There are entirely too many absences from the senior class. Mr. Henderson thinks it is about time seniors started getting to class on time, Game with Southwest DeKalb there. We lost both games. Seniors peddle 500 dozen doughnuts in the rain. Boys finished up the doughnuts down at the lake, then begged money for the show. That tardy bell is really messing up the seniors playhouse---too bad you had to stay after school Glenn and Charles. Class decided to get Mrs. Coulee going away present, Class gave Mrs. Coulee going away party last period. Class gets acquainted with Mr. Trimble new homeroom teacher. We like him. Happy Birthday Eddie. Report cards---looks like some senior girls aren't pleased with their govt. Not many seniors with A on conduct, Mr. Goolsby told assembly that seniors could pass O. Everybody gets acquainted with new students and new physical education teacher, Miss Moore. Things happened over Labor Day week-end. Peggy and Lawrence started going steady. Jimmy C. decided to drop geometry, and Elizabeth had a birthday, Seniors decide on Washington for class trip. One interesting item--Senior boys used to eat Shredded Ralston because Tom Mix did, Class rings arrived. Game with Avondale there. We lost 12-0. Senior Class 54 --that is what the sign says. Seniors honored at Kiwanis Dinner. ' Seniors decided to start class government. C Mr. Henderson told seniors even if their arm was broken in six places we'd have a test today. We didn't have it. C Game with Druid Hills there. We lost 18-7. Talking of going to Rutledge, plan to invite Juniors. School day at the county fair and Charles S. is sporting a black eye. Hourglass staff working hard. Start selling magazines today. Miss Jones finally had a Family Relations Class with everyone present. Game with Buford here. We won 13-0. Ten seniors go to Decatur Library in one car. Wow! Seniors attend all six classes today.. Seniors sell 500 dozen doughnuts. Seniors and Juniors go to see The Robe. Game with Lithonia there. They won 39-0. Wompus Cats leading Georgia Tech in magazine sale. Seniors to be on T V working hard. Mr. Goolsby gives little talk on discipline to Government class. Happy Birthday Larry. Class gives Mrs. Coulee a vase for wedding anniversary. Game with Lawrenceville here. We won 19-0, Homecoming game. School out at 11:30 G, E, A. meeting. . ' Our Word Today over, but not forgotten by nine tired-of-labor seniors and Mr. Henderson. First shipment of Hourglass pages mailed today. Happy Birthday Myrtle. Georgia Tech won magazine sale after all--Thanks to Murt! Elect senior personalities. Five Seniors enjoy lunch at the Biltmore Hotel. Game with Clarkston here. We tied 13-13. Decide to go to Washington on June 13th. Seems as if Mrs. Iordan's senior typing class has better things to do. Billie Jane had to go home because she cou1dn't talk. I don't think Mr, Goolsby had heard that one before. Class rejoiced because Lawrence finally shaved and got a haircut. English class got locked in classroom. Game with Stone Mountain there. We won 19-13, First day back from Rutledge--Juniors and Seniors sleep through class. f Glenn typed the tar out of that typewriter. Senior Council started to form Constitution. What seniors were playing cards in the senior office? Game with Milton there. We lost 20-0. Turkey dinner a success---thanks to gradernothers.
