Photo Lizette Lampe In the early morning traffic with the 6 A M Blues I picked up a lonely hiker whod nothing left to lose He told me he was gomg to a place so far away that his folks would never find him He said hed make them pay I asked him what had happened He told me what was wrong My folks dont understand me Ive waited much to long We rode from there in silence He didnt say a word He looked so sad and frightened a sigh was all I heard I reached my destination He waved and said goodbye l stood there and I watched him and it almost made me cry He crossed the road so slowly He couldnt run very well A car lust seemed to brush him But even so he fell l ran out there to help him His shirt was soaked with blood His hair once black and shiny was lying in the mud ln the early morning traffic with the 6 AM Blues I picked up a lonely hiker with nothmg left to lose. I helped him find his freedom He didnt get that far. For there he met his maker. He didnt see the car. Addrianne
