From hese we went on a tour of the White House, seeing some of the famous rooms we've heard lso much about. The National Art Gallery was our next stop. There were paintings by such famous people as Dali, Rembrandt, and many others. In the afternoon we visited the Capitol and attended the House and the Senate. Neal Smith, our Congressman, was there to greet us. We also saw a few of the more famous Senators such as Goldwater and Morris. Our last stop that day was the Smithsonian Institution. Here, lwe saw the famous Hope Diamond. The following day we drove into Virginia and visited Mount Vernon. We spent the whole morning here for everything was so beautiful and uthentic. The gardens were in full bloom and very lovely. After lunch e went to Arlington Cemetery which is truly something to see. There ere over 10,000 graves in long rows. Lee's mansion is also located ere and we toured it. At two o'clock we saw the famed changing of he guard. This is something that will stay with us for some time. Later n the afternoon we visited the Russian Embassy, which we found quite nteresting but not very informative. I guess the Russians are trying to eep everything to themselves.
