CARRY ME BACK In the fall of 1948, thirty inquisitive children peered through the doors of learn- ing at what was to be a new and exciting experience. Miss Donola Motsinger, now Mrs. Orval Leggett, drey the blue print for the structure we would build. Ten of these 30 were the foundation of the illustrious graduating class of 1961, now composed of 27 members-the largest to be graduated from this school. These 10 were: Vic Freeman, Bill Huglin, Karen Neidt, Dale Sheldon, Elizabeth Shutt, Darwin Sinn, Charles Vasey, Carol Dorman, Larry Smith, and David Denly. As first graders, we continued to work on our building by adding the beams: Cathrine Phillips, Larry Phillips, Ronnie Fitzgerald, and Beverly Mumm. Finding Miss Motsinger needed help as our contractor, we employed Miss Lucille Weeks. In second grade, we changed contractors, employing Miss Francais Weddle. To support our growing structure, we added a brace, Janice Smith. Hereafter, we decided that every year we would change contractors to obtain more ideas on the best and firmest way to build. In third grade, we acquired Miss Delores Haltom, now Mrs. Otis Roby, who gave us many ideas on strengthening our building. At this time, our house needed a floor. jerry Chipp arrived on the scene to help us lay it. Miss Marilyn Camp and Miss Betty Cumings, now Mrs. Bill Green, helped us further our progress in the fourth grade. Connie Critz and Milly Bryan came to help us add the walls. In fifth grade, Mrs. Delores Roby had the pleasure of driving the nails of know- ledge into our project again. To secure warmth and gaiety in our building, Doris Morris arrived and provided the insulation. In sixth grade, under the direction of Miss Cumings, the rafters-Joyce McMichael, Marcia Albright, and Mike Porter were added. In seventh grade, with the help of Mrs. Lola Porter, we raised the roof and found Sherry Williams sitting on it. During our eighth grade year, guided by Mr. Wayne Breeding, and with the help of Don Stover, we completed the ground floor of our ever-growing storehouse of know- ledge. By adding the stairway, we ascended into higher learning. As freshmen in high school, with the help of Connie Smith and Ellen Wenck, we installed windows in our building to help us see the many new things that were opening to us. In our second and third years of high school, we inspected our structure and came to the conclusion that it would be improved by adding a few of the finer things to the interior. We proceeded to do this by viewing outstanding movies, and presenting a play, Bolts and Nuts, and a banquet and prom, An Evening Beneath the Sea . During our last year of working on our building here in Truro, Donna Parkhurst joined us. After adding a few more finishing touches and a play, Rest Assured, we completed our storehouse of knowledge, for the present, by adding a door. In the near future, we will take the golden key to opportunity, and we will go our separate ways to something new and exciting, treasuring always many warm and wonderful memories. Those who assisted us, for a short while, in the work we did were: Judy james Larry Hackett Larry Neal jo Ann Huffman Reva Camp jimmy Steinback Larry Tripp Verna Langham Judy Cook Richard Heinen jerry Halterman Kay Anderson Mary jo Bruett Kathy Pauley Richard Stuart Marvin Marr Veronica Roan Roberta Baker Bernard Baker Larry Munyon Merril Glazebrook Myrtie Church Donald Banker Ronald Cornelison Mark Brown john Fulkerson Jimmy Schrack Marian Keeney Elaine Charter Patty Halterman LaVerne Beighler james Stevenson Delores Cleland Leverne Steffes Herb Chiles Sharon Goering Kenneth Harrier John Baliff jo Anne Cox Tracy Douglas
