PPPPPP ul We have chosen the theme Doors of Opportunity for The Truro Trojan '61. We offer With real sincerity this tribute of appreciation to the people of this community, Whose sacrifices and conscientious hard Work have provided us, and all the graduating classes before us, with golden Doors of Opportunity, an education worthy of the promise of the future. We, the seniors of '61, look back upon the years We have attended Truro Community School, and we realize gratefully how much has been done for us by our parents, our fine teachers, and all the people of the community-to enrich our lives, to enable us to develop our talents, to train us for a life's Work, and to make of us good citizens. Our Doors of Opportunity have been the new horizons to which We have been introduced, the new levels of thought and appreciation We have experienced through our classes and through the special interests of our teachers, the opportunities We have had to participate, to com- pete, and to Work with classmates in activities and projectsg and the guid- ance and inspiration We have been given which will mold us into the leaders of the community, of the nation, of tomorrow. Yes, for us, have been opened doors of opportunity. ' 1

6 I O To the fine people of our community . . . whose concern and foresight have opened our Doors of Op portunity . . . whose inter- est and loyal support have been so vital to our projects . . . and whose pride and confidence we have earnestly tried to be worthy of . . . the members of the senior class of '61 dedicate this yearbook. For special mention, we have singled out one of the graduates of Truro High School who has chosen to remain in our little com- munity, who has been for fifteen years a valued, versatile member of the team that performs all the less-glorious tasks that must be done to keep a school in working order. Iohn Minard--Iohnny, as most of us know him-has been Bus Driver No. 1, chief mechanic and general handyman, driver for all athletic trips and other extra-curricular activity trips, tal- ented speaker at the annual athletic banquet, and an active, forward- looking participant in school affairs for as long as any of us can remember. johnny has been generous with his time, never refusing a request, responding always with a smile. He has made a career of working for and with us, and we feel that not the least of his contributions has been the example of integrity and dedicated serv- ice he has given us.
