uh SENIOR CLASS HISTORY , . On August 27, 191:59 sixteen pretty little gn-ls and twelve handsome little boys began their Primary year at the' little brick school 'building in Truro. The former I-'lisa Gertrude Johnson, new Mrs, Dale Igrtton of Truro, was our teacher. She believed that we were all A students until we proved differently. Of these twentyaeigt little darlings, eleven have remained for all twelve grades here at Truro. These eleven origf- ' :tual members of the class are: linda Burns, Kent Gregor, Shirley Dorman, Larry Gene Dick, Larry Fitzgerald, Janis Kirby, Janice Lethfum, ' Jean Porter, Merril Spellerberg, Jane Urnstod Chaman and Joanllmtsds This first year was filled with mam' incidental For instance, do you rmmber when Shirley Dorman drank out of the fish howl, or when Joan Umsted used to sit behind Linda Burns and peel the stars off her hair ribbons? John Jones and Shirley Vasey joined ua in the first grade, Cora Marie Farren was our teacher., I guess our little group of thirtyf-two dimft quite till the rom, so s small group of eight flrstgraders moved in with use Our busy teacher was Lucille Weeks. We have some vivid memories of this year, too., Remember the time when Linda Burns was seat out of the room to stand in the hall for talking? That was the time who hid in the lockers so her sister uouldmt see her., Oh yea, Janice Lathrum used to enjoy making faces at the other students., Has she really outgrmm that habit? After being promoted to the third grade, we felt very proud of ours selves, we had the pleasure of being' in a room with the fourthyaderse Delores I-Z8-3153? new Eros Otis Roby, was our teachere Our school was still rather crowded when we reached E-he foamth grades We had the pleasure -of keeping the fifthgraders compawa Doris 09 Popejoy was our teacher., ' thu Reedjh, Jordan became our Superintendent when we were in the fifth grade. '-John Jordan joined our happy group.. Betty Lou Swings, new Mrs., Bill G-rem, was our teachers Miss Leslie Hart was our sixth grade teacher., This was the gear when several of the girls enjoyed tieiug up Jean Porter with ,jumrpzhxg ropes in the cloak room.. Merril Spelleroerg received a letter from one of his girl friends which seemed to interest our teacher, but ho had it in his boot so she coulmft read it, Also, remember our picnic on the last day of school, John Jordan? Well, you should, because that vas the day that you get stuck in some quick cond, its also sense 115-Cr that day. when we reached the seventh yeas, our class was split up, becarse of the lack of rooms Part of us remained in the sixth grade room?-0 reap the little kids company, while the others joined the seventhgradexes. Ytss Jean Ballard, 'now Mrs., Dale Swan, and Hrs. Gladys Drew were our teachers., we welcomed Charles Critz to our class., At last, our mil group was one big happy class again. Miss Ballard liked us so well, that she decided to stay with us through the eighth grade. Jeame and Joe Bryan and Bill Terry joined us that year.. Our class of twenty-three was promoted into high school.,
