Mon Soon Neidt Wing Lee Jordan Cherry Blossom Freeberg The Four Soo Louzee 500 NOSSY Waggee Tongue Burns Truro Junior-Senior Banquet and Prom April 25, 1958 The Truro Gym was transformed into an Oriental Garden scene for the annual Junior-Senior banquet and prom held Friday evening, April 25. The guests entered the garden through a pagoda doorway to see beds of red poppies and a profusion of yellow and white carnations and chrysanthemums. From this garden they crossed a rustic bridge over a fish pool to enter the dining area, an octagon-shaped enclosure made with streamers in sunburst colors of reds and yellows, and lighted by Iapanese lanterns. Here the center of interest was a shrine of Buddha. The figure was made by the juniors under the direction of Mr. Wayne Breeding. Ever- green hedges bordered the garden, and apple trees were in bloom. In the center of each small table was a rose bowl con- taining a white rose, the senior class flower. Program booklets had copper-colored covers in the shape of a pagoda, and were printed on mint green paper, using the senior colors. Waiters--Ed Swan, Phil Smith, Dick Black, and Bill Burns-- were garbed as coolies, and the waitresses--Betty Critz, Dixie Nicholson, Dixie Brant, and Donna Lockart--wore Iapanese kimonos in pastel colors. Sharon Mease and Linda Spencer served punch during the prom. Julia Patterson and Sandra Reed played Chopstlck Melodies as Iudy Smith and Bonnie Stover sang. Don Neidt, junior president, was toastmaster and welcomed the guests. John Jordan, senior president, responded. Karilee Freeberg, accompanied by Don, sang japanese Love Song. Linda Burns read the class history, and Ioan Umsted read the will. A mystery guest fWanda Freebergj made the class prophecy from her crystal ball. Iapanese Sandman was sung by Nancy Schaffer. Superintendent Reed Jordan spoke on See No Evil, Hear No Evil, Speak No Evil. The concluding number was a duet by joy Porter and Dennis Kale, Tea For Two, accompanied by Mrs. Carol Hunt. Mr. Loren Kale entertained before dinner at his organ, and Harry Grange and his orchestra played for the prom from 9 to 12. The group was entertained from 1 a. m. to 4 by movies shown at the Recreation Hall at the Natural Gas Booster Station. Breakfast was served by Mrs. Hilda Denly, Mrs. Fred Reed, Ir. , Mrs. john Freeberg, junior mothers: and by Mrs. Wayne Breeding. Sponsors of the juniors are Mrs. Beulah Wilson and Mrs. Dorothy Iordan.
