Reading Room More than 625 faculty members, students and friends of the College participated in LSMFT Clibrary stack move on free Thursdayj to help move the Pickler Memorial Library into its new 3750.000 addition last summer. A total of 55,000 volumes were moved into the new addition during a nine-hour period. The completely air-conditioned library addition. which has been ex- tensively used by students and faculty members alike throughout the year. features the use of the hopen stack system. The hrst floor of the addition con- tains a large reading room and the open stacks. The second floor is set aside for periodicals and newspapers. The third floor of the addition pro- vides for more open stacks and also more reading room. With the addi- tion. the library now seats more than l.000 students and has space for 268,940 books. Senator Edward V. Long of Mis- souri designated the Pickler Memorial Library as a Federal depository for Federal documents and publications.
