Hubert Wheeler Regent Ex-Officio Board members facilitate campus growth Mr. Hubert Wheeler has been State Commis- sioner of Education since 1947. He serves as ex- officio member of the Board of Regents. For the ultimate authority in solving all col- lege problems it is necessary to tum to the Board of Regents. It is they who confirmthe appoint- ments of all college faculty members, determine the general operating policies of the College, and hold all the purse strings. With the growth of the school, the work of the board becomes increasingly complex and time- consuming. No civic authority renders more vital service to any community than the Board of Regents.
