President During 1960, Dr. Walter H. Ryle completed his twenty-third year as president of the Teachers College. His interests this year have centered around academic achievement and tangible campus improvements. These noteworthy gains may be evidenced by the in¬ creasing of the minimum honor- point requirement for the profes¬ sional school to 1.2, and a further advancement in the building pro¬ gram. State Commissioner of Education The term regent has many meanings. To Mr. Webster, the definition is “a member of a board appointed to govern a university or other institution, usually educational ’ This definition fits the basic governing body of the Northeast Missouri State Teachers College, THE BOARD OF REGENTS. The Board is composed of seven members, who, although they follow different professions, have one common interest—the growth and devel¬ opment of The Teachers College. So ef¬ ficient is the execution of the plans and business transactions of the College that very little recognition is given where much is due. Mr. Hubert Wheeler, by virtue of his office, is an ex-officio member. Members of the Board of Regents are: P. M. Marr, Milan, president; J Andy Zenge, Jr., Canton, vice-president; Edward E.
