Papa and Mama had come from Norway to live in San Francisco because Mama' sisters, Jenny, Sigrid, and Trina lived there. Katrin, Nels, Christine, and Dagmar were all born there. Mama, with the help of her husband and Uncle Chris brought up the children in their modest home during the early years of the century. Mama, a sweet and very capable manager, saw her children through childhood, managed to educate them, and saw one of her daughters be- gin her career as an author. Mama had Mrs Hyde, a very courtly-mannered Englishman, as a boarder to help get enough money to buy herself a coat, Uncle Chris, a dynamic character, kept everyone alert with his loud shouting. Sadness hit the whole house when Uncle Chris died. Trina stirred everyone with her precious romance with Mr. Thorkelson. These and many more incidents with several other people completed Katrin's vivid memorieso The Juniors are to be commended on a fine job done. lt was truly a play that none will ever forget. 8
