COMMANDING OFFICER USS TRUETT IFF 10953 FPO NEW YORK 09501 To the Officers and Men of U.S.S. TRUETT: This handsome book is an appropriate momento of a unique experience. Long after I have left I TRUETT I shall take pleasure and satisfaction in thumbing through it and remembering the hard work, the good times, and the valuable friendship that were a part of our time with STANAVFORLANT. I will remember, too, as I look at the photographs of the men who served under my command, your unflagging enthusiasm and pride in ship, Navy and country which sustained us through a long separ- ation from home and a heavy operating schedule. I hope that you will have time to sit down with your friends and families in the future, show them this book, and perhaps share with them some of the excitement a sailor enjoys when serving in a good ship with a first rate crew. I know that I shall, and that I will take enormous atisfaction in boasting that I was a part of T TT. ' . T HOCK CDR USN
