The Trojan spirit is more than cheering at a pep ral- ley, building a Homecoming display, or supporting the national championship baseball team. It is un- boundless enthusiasm for all that TSU represents ... its sports, academics, organi- zations, dramatic produc- tions and so much more. The happy, prideful face of our mascot, T-Roy, denotes the spirit found in students, alumni and other fans. Pride is an integral part of what comprises the Trojan spirit. Troy State students and administrators like to boast and have every rea- son to do so. With Junior Misses from all over the country, two national championship athletic teams, a nationally ac- claimed drama depart- ment, and a multitude of successful alumni, Troy State ' s pride is showing. TSU people do not carry an ar- rogant pride, but rather a secure, satisfied pride in knowing they are a part of a unique university.

HI ■ l y In 1887, two small buildings in downtown Troy marked the beginnings of what would eventually become the Troy State University System. From its conception to its current status, Troy State ' s main cam- VI pus has grown and expanded along with the curriculum, campus activities, administra- tion, and student body. The main campus, presently covering 433 acres in the southeastern quarter of Troy, is known for its scenic beauty. Azaleas in bloom paint the campus with vivrant colors of spring. In the winter, pecan trees drape the quad with their majestic limbs. The rugid fa- cade of Kilby Hall serves as a reminder of the fine history of the Institution, while the mistic aloofness of Sorrell Chapel is a constant symbol of TSU ' s phi- losophies and ideals. Rising above all is the Palladium which guards the campus like a hawk, offering a sense of se- curity. ■ . l ■ •»• £ i 6 Opening
