Fall and Winter quarters were characterized by unceasing rain. The campus became a monstrous puddle as students sloshed their way to classes. Sickness too, was prevalent as ihe infirmary filled up and class attendance was at an all time low. The rainy weather may be sym- bolic of the year overall. A cloud hung over the nation as we mourned the death of many of our favorite entertainers - Elvis, Bing Crosby, Charlie Chaplin, Joan Crawford and others. The debate over the Panama Canal treaty caused many storms in Congress, trou- ble in the Mid-East brewed continuously, and the energy crisis was still unsolved. Yet through the rain, the spirit at Troy was not dampened. Pep rallies continued, with enthusiasm, Troian football ended with a good record, and with the coming of Spring the dorm beaches opened, the dogwoods bloomed, the tennis courts filled, and spring fever hit with full force. .'1'S it-ua -fs.-JL -154 . , . x. -4- - .'
