Dr. Smith has a wonderful philosophy of life and every waking minute is filled with concern for the students at Troy State College. He walks around the campus with an air of dignity and seriousness but loves a good joke and can tell a better story than anyone in Alabama. His hobbies are collecting jokes, reading and golfing. President Smith is recognized as one of the leading college Presidents in the South and Troy State College has gained national recognition under his leader- ship.
