CARTHAGE-TROY HIGH SCHOOL COOLVILLE, OHIO Dedication As members of the Senior Class of 1965, we sincerely dedicate our yearbook to our helpful and hard-working English teacher and librarian, Mrs. Evelyn Koehler. She has taught our English classes for three years and held the post of librarian for the past five years. She has inspired us and taught us to lead a meaningful life. Our Helpers OFFICE STAFF CUSTODIANS Vicki Russell; Mr. Pitzer, Board Clerk; She- Mr. Griffin Mr. Hatfield lia Hickel COOKS BUS DRIVERS Mrs. Minnie Clark, Mrs. Wilma Weaver, Mrs. Madis Mollohan, and Mrs. Goldie Hughes EXECUTIVE HEAD Education is a companion which no misfortune can decrease, no crime destroy, no enemy alienate, no despotism enslave; at home a friend, abroad an introduction; in solitude a solace; in society an ornament. It chastens vice, guides virtue, and gives grace and government to genius. Education may cost financial sacrifice and mental pain, but in both money and life values, it will repay every cost one hundred-fold. MR. E, L. KOEHLER FACULTY MR. For the first few weeks we were a very confused group, and in general a trial to our teachers. But we soon learned the routine. We elected our officers as follows: President, Shelia Hickel; Vice President, Bill Ellis, Secretary, Carol Zuerchet; Treasurer, Gloria Craig; News Reporter, Dorthy Putman. Our money-making project was a square dance. We began our Sophomore year in nineteen hundred and sixty-three. We lost thirteen students during the summer, Trina Rowe, Robert Young, Richard Bailey, Douglas Rivard, Karen Gorrell, Beverly Fore, Bobby Barber, Rodney Creamans, Sylvia Wheaton, Joyce Welch, Carol Zuercher, Barbara Hampton, Betty McDaniels. Our Class officers for our Sophomore year were: President, Shelia Hicnel; Vice President, John Nickols; Secretary, Richard Martinez; Treasurer, Frankie Crew; News Reporter, Bev Thomas. Our money-making project was another square dance. We started our Junior year with fifty-three students. We lost three students that year, Dottie Atkinson, Frankie Crew, Rick Goslee, Dorthy Putman. Our officers were: President, Beverly Thomas; Vice President, lohn Nickols; Secretary, Shelia Hickel; Treasurer, Richard Martinez; News Reporter, Bill Ellis; Historian Gloria Craig. During that year Beverly Thomas and Richard Martinez were elected prom Prince and Princess. Our prom theme was Wonderland by Night . Some Juniors participated in the Junior and Senior play, Her Kissin' Cousin Well, finally in nineteen hundred and sixty-five we entered the door of Carthage-Troy as Seniors on top at last. Our class officers for the last time were; President, Bill Ellis; Vice President, John Nickols; Secretary, Bernita Barnhart; Treasurer, Barbara Phillips; News Reporter, Wanda Snyder; Historian, Gloria Craig. We lost, Bev Thomas, Richard Martinez, Jamie Dawson, Barbara Ward. We are now going out in the world to make a good impression in the years to come.
