SSYERIUGDU2 WDSUCDUW Freshman Year President --------------------- Robert Harmeyer Vice President ------------------ LeRoy Stewart Secretary Treasurer ---- - ---- ----Esther Miller The fall of 1939, seventeen dignified boys and girls took their places as freshmen in high school. Before we were classified as freshmen we had to pass a test given by the sophomores in the form of an initiation. We were going to do big things from then on, the first was the election of officers. Our sponsor was Miss Dme inick. In May we closed the year with a weiner roast at the home of Clarence Miller. SOphOII1OI'E YBHI' President ----------------------- Marie Brinker Vice President ----------------- Violet Schudel Secretary ----------------------- Esther Miller Treasurer --------------------- Robert Harmeyer At the opening of the sophomore year Dale Grubs en- tered our iclass from DeVilbiss, making curl enrollment thirteen. During the summer we had lost five former members. Our sponsor for this year was Mr. Sturgeon. This year it was our pleasure to initiate the freshmen. The main event of this year was the freshmen-sophomore weiner roast at the home of Ruth Kopp. Junior Year President ----------------------- Esther Miller Vice President ------------------ Eileen Barber Secretary Treasurer --------------- Joyce Baker .Our main goal for our junior year was to earn money. At the beginning of the year we had the election of of- ficers. suisuma uvamamaca What a nice big farm that is! It's so clean and well kept that it looks almost as if it were taken from a painting and set down there. Well, if it isn't Donald Miller's name on the barn! There's Donald him- self on that tractor out in the field. My, but he makes a handsome farmer--a Greek god in overalls. Don't push, girls. Isn't that Kathryn Jacobs going into that radio building? Why, it looks as if Kathryn is the star on that show coming on in fifteen minutes--yes, she must be. The name of the program is NKate of Honeysuckle Alley.n Good work, Kate, but we knew when we saw you on the stage and heard you on our mock radio program that you were headed for fame. Sometimes I wish I were down on earth. If I were, I'd go to that beautiful modern theater down there. Bet that would be a good play, too--Marie Brinker starring in HThe Golden Bubble.N There are rumors that Marie will act in a Shakespearean play soong she seems to have been created for those dramatic roles, Just take a look at that big dairy! Talk about ultramoderng I'd like to know what that place hasn't got--I see it even has Robert Harmeyer, which is a great asset to any dairy. When we were in high school we couldn't guess what course Bob would pursue, but he seems perfectly happy when he is in the company of his contented cows. lHe's raising pigs as a sideline.J That's really a cute uniform that girl has on. Bet the girls who drive those station wagons have fun. And look who's inside that uniform! It's none other than Iota Evans! I almost didn't recognize her. Shes really snappy-looking. And isn't that Lois Samson she's talking to? I understand Lois writes that new comic strip NAlice, the Anteatern that all the kiddies like so well. I've heard that in many homes the little dears have violent quarrels over who gets to see NAliceU first. I think I'll recline in one of these fluffy clouds and take a nap, ,Gosh, but it's been great seeing all those people who were seniors at good old T. H. S. way back in 1943. ' 19

SSEENUGDIQP EHUSSUCDERYY class to receive rings during their junior year . We had two parties, a weiner roast at Roadside Park and a party at the home of Dale Grubs. On February 5, l9L2, we presented the class play, NFixit Incorporated,N a farce-comedy in three acts. We entertained the seniors at a military banquet on May 15, at the school. The entertainment at the banquet was furnished by Miss Mar- cella Peterson, of Bowling Green State University. After the banquet everyone was given a ticket to the show, NKing's Row,H at Toledo. Senior Year President ---.-------.----------- Donald Miller Vice President ----------- ---Robert Harmeyer Secretary ----------------------- Marie Brinker Treasurer -------------------------- Iota Evans At last we were seniors, our studying and fun had not been in vain. We were very fortunate to have Miss Wirick for our sponsor once more. On October 5 we journeyed to the Livingston Studio, Toledo, to have our pictures taken. Always willing to try something new we presented these three one-act plays on March 22, 19L3: a comedy, NThe Hummingbird Hiccups,N a drama, NThe Bond Between,N and a tragedy, NA Night at an Inn.N Although this type of play is not well known in this community it is not doubtful that it will become popular in the future. The new year also brought a few dark days when we started to lose members of our class. In February Rob- ert Harmeyer enlisted in the navy, but returned with an honorable discharge. LeRoy Stewart decreased the num- ber of our class to thirteen. In March Gene Hannah was called to the army, the first student to be called dur- ing the school year. A theater party was riven in his honor. His leaving decreased our enrollment to twelve. Our twelve years of school were rapidly drawing to an end. In April we received our announcements and name cards, and took the state scholarship tests. Our last party together was a weiner roast at Pearson Park on May 7. Cn May 14, we were honored guests of the junias at the banquet. Our goal achieved, we ended the year with the baccalaureate, May 23, and commencement, May25
