Class Poem School life for us at Troy has passed. Each day was filled with joy. Gur friends and classes now are massed Upon the ledger - Troy. Our friends have come from far and near From countrx and from toxxn But we haxe prox ed them verx dear Through all the xear around For teachers xxe xe been fortunate 'lheu sincere wish was that we learn To do our best and conquer fate, And never from Gods wav to turn The Iutur of our comrades dear 'We strive in vain to see, But only time xx ill tell xve fear Their place in lifes societv The stories of our life at Troy As heard throughout the land Remind us of that girl or boy Who bravelv made the four xear stand At first we came to school to learn And then some friendships make At last xxe haxe our credits earned And our farewell to Troy take Geraldine Barrett Marx Holcombe Class Hzstory 1937 September 7 1937 xxas ne of the xery most important days of our lixes the day xx hen we met in Troy High School for the first time one hundred txxenty five xital healthy and happy young men and women We had all the earmarks of bexxildered Freshmen hoxxexer the first few vxeeks of being appointed to home rooms re ceixing schedule cards and lockers and attending the first classes xxere success fully passed somehoxx At our first class meeting vxe elected Charles May president Doris Smith vice president Corey Brovxn secretary, and Lyeil Broxxn treasurer Even at this early stage our Judgement seems to haxe been good for these officers whom we had little chance of knowing well prox ed ambitious and successful Remembering their early experiences the girls of the Tri Hi Y interpreted the xxorried loolss on the faces of the fresh men girls and xolunteered to take us under their wings They served a lun cheon entertained us and acted for a time as adxisers to whom we could take our algebra cixics or other class prob lems Well surelv long remember what a help this plan prox ed to be 4Continued on page 65 J - 7 . 1 v r 7 n V ' V - , . . . 7 V .
